AET Films offers custom products from Virginia
Applied Extrusion Technologies Inc. (AET Films), of New Castle, DE, USA, has expanded the capabilities of its Covington, VA, plant to offer custom coating services.
According to Bill Minnich, senior market manager, AET offers a variety of aqueous primers and coatings for substrates in gauges of 40 and up in both oriented and cast films, including polypropylene, polyester, nylon, and polyethylene, as well as nonwovens, paper, and paperboard.
The coating system is adept at handling water based top coatings and delicate, thin gauge films, Minnich says, adding that it has built-in capabilities that offer customers the possibility of savings. “For example, the two stations allow AET to make single passes on jobs that some coaters need a more costly two passes to complete.”
